Welcome to Growing Places Nursery in Gourock

Growing Places Nursery welcomes children from 6 weeks to school age. We are in Partnership with the Local council. Our capacity is 24 children per day.

The nursery is situated just off Shore Street Gourock, offering easy access to public transport, e.g. bus, ferry, and train. Collecting and dropping off by car is also favourable.

Both indoor and outdoor play will be encouraged, as through this your child will be able to develop in all aspects of their lives.

New Medication Policy PDF Print E-mail
Dear Parents/Carers
Margaret Anne, Nicola and Pamela have recently taken part in an informal training session with Yvonne Kalla, Community Children’s Nurse regarding Anaphylaxis- the basic facts and Epi pens. This was a very interesting training session which has resulted in us developing a new Allergies Medication Policy.

It will now be Nursery Policy that medicine brought to be administered must be prescribed by a doctor, which will have the child’s name, date of birth and dosage/times stated clearly on the bottle. As of now will be unable to administer shop bought calpol, cough medicine etc. We will also be unable to contact yourselves via phone to seek permission to administer calpol to your child. However if you feel your child may need calpol at some point during the day or has antibiotics you can provide the staff with the prescribed medication that morning and fill in the necessary paperwork to allow us to administer this prescribed medicine.

Regarding allergies there will now be a new form to fill in regarding the course of action we will take in the event of an emergency. This form will state that depending on the seriousness of the attack the staff have permission to contact you but take the child straight to A&E
