The children have a wide range of language games, construction toys, jigsaws, technology, heuristic, puppet and role play, and mark making materials. Also sand and water. All of these are easily accessible for the children to make their own choices. We also have story bags and musical instruments again stored low enough for easy access. For Physical activity we have soft play, trampoline, bikes, and space hoppers, Bean bags hoola hoop etc. We also have regular visits to Fun World and will be arranging to visit Gourock Park to use their new play area. We have a large grassy area close to the nursery which is great to take our sports equipment and parachute as there is lots of space. We also like to visit the bunny park where the children can see a variety of animals. Physical games are planned i.e. ring games puddles etc. and we regularly visit the local library and shops. Our children are actively encouraged to make their own choices of activities, stories, baking where to go on outings etc. and which materials they would like to use for arts and crafts. Our 2-3 year olds are encouraged to make there own choices by having boxes at their level and booklets with pictures of resources. They also have a pictorial recipe booklet with step by step picture guides for choices of what to make. Our daily routine is structured with plenty of time for free play, quiet time story and music time. |
